Monday to Friday, with occasional evening work and flexible remote work options

Distribution and Collections Coordinator Role:
The Distribution and Collections Coordinator is a vital support team member whose role it is to assist with the distribution and stewardship of the WFG Collection. The Distribution and Collections Coordinator will be organized with attention to detail, have a desire to develop their collections management skills and arts administration skills, be able to take directions and juggle multiple projects at once, and has an interest in the filmic media arts.
Working with the WFG Distribution team overseen by the Distribution Director, the Distribution and Collections Coordinator aids in a variety of activities in the Distribution department and contributes to the overall artistic direction and goals of the department and organization.
The primary responsibilities of the Distribution and Collections Coordinator include:
- Attending weekly to bi-weekly check-ins with the Distribution Director
- Assisting the Distribution and Collections Director with film submissions and acquisitions
- Working with the Distribution and Collections Director to develop Distribution Plans for new acquisitions
- Attending distribution meetings with filmmakers
- Submitting films to film festivals
- Preparing and delivering film files and film materials to film festivals and other screening opportunities alongside the Distribution and Collections Director
- Researching new and alternative opportunities for film submissions
- Communicating with and maintaining good relationships with filmmakers and arts professionals
- Tracking film screenings and submissions in the WFG database and any necessary spreadsheets
- Digitizing films in-house including Beta, VHS, and DVD’s
- Working with the Distribution and Collections Director to complete the final phase of the WFG Archive/Counter-Archive Case Study
- Attending meetings with arts professionals, arts educators, and those working with the WFG Catalogue, both over zoom and in-person
- Working with the Distribution and Collections Director to organize public screenings presented by the Distribution Department
- Publishing bi-weekly screening highlights on the WFG website
- Posting weekly screening highlights via IG stories
- Publishing film acquisitions on the WFG website (approx. once a month)
- Assisting the Distribution and Collections Director with administrative tasks, as needed
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in the Arts or Humanities with at least one year experience working in the arts sector (a combination of related experience will be considered). The candidate should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Writing skills, an awareness of film programming, and an interest in the trends and movements across creative forms are requested but not required. An interest in film preservation and collections management is also beneficial. The ideal candidate should be open to travel opportunities and may be invited to submit travel grants independent of the WFG to supplement travel costs.
