Instructor Description:
Quan Luong is a Vietnamese filmmaker based in Winnipeg, Canada. Coming from a family of engineers, Quan is the first in his family to fully pursue a career in the arts. He grew up next to a camera with his dad being a hobbyist photographer, which inspired his filmmaking journey at the age of 13; making short films and Youtube videos with friends. After high school, he moved to Canada from Vietnam to pursue a career in film and immediately started working in the industry while obtaining his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba. Since then, he has delivered 100+ hours of TV to international broadcasters for Winnipeg-based Farpoint Films as a colourist, served as a Camera Operator and Director of Photography on many docu-series, documentaries, and short narrative films like Cruise Ship Killers (A&E), Living The Dream (Bell MTS), I Hurt Myself (CBC Manitoba), Almost Unsolved (Super Channel). Quan’s first feature documentary Seeking Fire premiered on Prime Video in November 2022 and has been sold to broadcasters around the world.
