The participant fee includes the rental of a $60 wig making kit that includes all of the supplies needed for this workshop. At the end, you will be able to take home your own newly made custom wig!
No experience necessary! As long as you have interest, you are welcome to sign up.
Day 1; Wig Making & Design – Sunday, April 28th, 2024 – Duration: 3 hours
This workshop is a hands-on class where the student will follow along with the instructor on how to design, measure and create their own wig of choice. By the end of the class the student will leave with a newly constructed wig and basic understanding of wig creation.
Day 2; Wig Application – Sunday, May 5th, 2024 – Duration: 3 hours
This workshop is a hands-on class where the student will follow along with the instructor on how to install style and wear a wig. By the end of the class the student will leave a good understanding of how to fit & style a wig on an individual. Students will need a wig for this class.
Day 3; Styling & Care – Sunday, May 12th, 2024 – Duration: 3 hours
This workshop is a hands-on class where the student will follow along with the instructor on how to wash & style a wig. By the end of the class the student will leave a good understanding of how to maintain, repair, cut and style a wig. Students will need a wig for this class.
About Hairbru Studio – Hairbru’s website
Hairbru is a hair extension hub specializing in protective styling such as braids, extensions & wig making. Hairbru opened its doors in 2019 on 691 Corydon Ave, Winnipeg MB. We provide a safe space for everyone to experience & enjoy our hair culture and heritage.
About the instructor: Nadia Wera
Growing up in Canada pushed Nadia to explore her hair, in all its kinks and curls. Out of necessity, she learned how to braid hair, sew & alter wigs for the harsh winters, and this experience led her to an incredible journey of wig making and eventually she found herself working in Film as a Film stylist and Wig designer.

The Winnipeg Film Group reserves the right to cancel any course where the minimum registration has not been met. Anyone registered for a course that has been cancelled is eligible for a full refund, Cancelled course fees may also be used towards any other Winnipeg Film Group training programs.
