As we do in February of each year, we are asking you to consider your love of cinema and the positive experiences you’ve had at the Winnipeg Film Group and Cinematheque, and to consider making a donation through our LoveWFG.com campaign.

The Winnipeg Film Group has started off 2013 as another strong programming year with a focus on the work of Manitoba filmmakers. The central reason that triggered the establishment of the Winnipeg Film Group, and still the central value at its heart, is the idea that the organization can have a significant impact on the careers of local filmmakers through a number of resources and opportunities.

Our work focuses on creating meaningful opportunities locally. We are able to do this through the support of many partners, funders, sponsors and individuals who support our organization’s mission. While donations by individuals make up a small percentage of our annual budget, they are critically important in the flexibility they provide us in supporting our ongoing, general programming, as well as special initiatives.

The Winnipeg Film Group has been relied upon for nearly four decades to provide essential resources that have enabled an accomplished and highly regarded independent filmmaking community to develop and sustain itself locally ? one that stands its own ground in the national and international film scene. Be it through our equipment rentals programs and workshops, marketing and distribution support, or the support and programming we are able to offer through our Cinematheque, the Winnipeg Film Group seeks to respond to community needs as far as our resources will take us.

As we do each year in February, we are asking you to consider your love of cinema and the positive experiences you’ve had at our organization, and to consider making a donation. Perhaps it was the opportunity to meet a visiting filmmaker or to bring your family to an affordable event at Cinematheque; or perhaps our organization provided you with integral support that enabled you to take your first real step in becoming a filmmaker. Whatever the reason, we are honoured to have you as part of our programming.

If you so desire, you can target your donation to general programs or to diversity programming, which provides special attention to support Aboriginal and culturally diverse filmmakers – through workshop bursaries, dedicated production funding and mentorship, special community programs and passes to special events.

Whether you are able to donate $25 or $500, we assure you that there is no donation too small to make an impact within our organization.

You can download and print a donation card here, to mail in, or alternately go to LoveWFG.com to donate online.
