The Winnipeg Film Group’s Film & Video Library & Storage Facility, completed in the spring of 2011, houses our over 2000 pieces of film prints and video tapes dating back to 1972.
This 220 square foot facility was designed to store the media assets entrusted to our care in a controlled and archival environment with stable temperature and humidity levels. It is equipped with archival metal shelving for all media holdings which allows the tapes and prints to be stored in favorable conditions to ensure continued access to the history of Canadian and specifically, Manitoba independent cinema.
The construction of the Vault and acquisition of media shelving was made possible with generous funding from the following:
