The Winnipeg Film Group’s Mosaic Film Fund is a production support and film mentorship program to support those who are women, non-binary, and 2-Spirit BIPOC emerging artists to produce a first or second independent short film or video. The application deadline for this year’s Mosaic fund is: February 29, 2024
Mosaic was founded by Winnipeg Film Group’s former Executive Director, Cecilia Araneda in an effort to support diverse talent in our local filmmaking community.
This award includes:
- $5,000 in cash (eligible expenses can be used for production, post-production, living expenses, ASL support, child care if applying as primary caregiver)
- $3,000 in services from the Winnipeg Film Group (workshops/training, equipment, cameras, studio rental, etc.)
- General Membership with Production Add-On for one year
- 1 experienced woman filmmaker as project mentor for one-on-one mentorship
- A screening of their finished project at the Cinematheque and online on Cinematheque at Home
This program supports filmmakers who intend to work in narrative, experimental or documentary, or hybrid/cross-genre work on film or video. The award funding and timeframe would ideally support a short project- 3-5 minutes in length.
