WFG member off to Rotterdam for World Premiere of First Feature

Jan 23, 2018

Prolific Winnipeg filmmaker Mike Maryniuk will be travelling to The Netherlands to present his debut feature film, The Goose, at the International Film Festival Rotterdam!
Mike received a 2017 MFM Fall Marketing Fund from the Winnipeg Film Group for this film.

Screening in the “Maximum Overdrive” program The Goose will play five times.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT:
“I’m interested in piling it all on and sorting it out as the process allows. This film could
only be made with the support of an art council. The Goose’s narrative is built with
animated band aids and dream sequences. I will always be an amateur filmmaker, a
filmic folk artist, delightfully naïve with an inflated perceived ability to fix things as I
go. Build a set in the evening, shoot the next day, collapse and start again.”

The International Film Festival Rotterdam or IFFR is running January 24 to February 4. Also attending IFFR2018 is WFG’s Distribution Coordinator Stephanie Berrington.

Congrats and have fun!
