Black Space Winnipeg in partnership with Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque is proud to present the first annual Afro Prairie Film Festival in celebration of Black History Month, February 23-25 2018. This is the first Black-centric film festival in Prairie Canada. The three day festival is celebrating Black cinema across North America and the work of established and emerging Black filmmakers from right here in Canada. Audiences can look forward to a weekend filled with education, workshops and a chance to explore Black narratives in film.

The festival is extremely proud and excited to present featured guests Amandine Gay (Ouvrir la Voix), Charles Officer (Unarmed Verses), and filmmaking legend Charles Burnett (The Killer of Sheep, To Sleep With Anger).
