Big congratulations to Chanelle Lajoie’s Métis Femme Bodies for receiving Best Documentary Short Film at FESTIVAL FILMINISTES in Montréal!
From the jury:
Métis Femmes Bodies suggests a nuanced, complex, profound discourse that opens up to the multiple dimensions of female and Métis identities. By showing bodies in postures normally confined to the private sphere, it gives access to a confronting vulnerability that allows us to take the full measure of what is said. A necessary film.
The prize awarded is a $5,000 grant from Post-Moderne.
