Synopsis

A Deadman’s Holiday is a “Frankenfilm” encompassing Don Best’s 20-year animation career. It was assembled together from the cadaver of pieces of unused 16mm animation from various sources such as completed works, incomplete works, tests and experiments. A Deadman’s Holiday acts as a document of Best’s filmmaking and animation career. Besides being a historical document, this is a personal film that deals with the theme of memory and the past, which is reflected by the vocal aspect of the soundtrack.
