Synopsis

504938C is about rebirth. It is the story of a young man trying to come to grips with his past as he looks towards the future. The film takes place in the man’s jail cell as he prepares for his release from prison. We watch as he burns Indian medicine for strength. He flashes back to his life of violence and crime. When he steps outside the prison gates, his family and gang life await. 504938C was filmmaker Ervin Chartrand’s prisoner number while he was an inmate in Stony Mountain Institution.
