Konstruktion Aria

By James Pomeroy | 00:03:15 | Animation, Experimental | 15/12/2017

Konstruktion Aria is both a work of visual music and an examination of visual "reading". Shot frame by frame on Super 8 film in one unedited take, it uses pixilation of surfaces and "musical" variations to achieve movement and rhythm out of stasis.

Emanations: A Visual Poem

By Patrick Jenkins | 00:04:37 | Animation, Experimental | 15/01/2017

An abstract movie about the relentless cycle of life, including growth and decay, and wonder and awe. This film explores the idea that contemporary urban cityscapes are replacing the natural environment, for example skyscrapers and buildings have taken the place of mountains, and that man has been very successful in taming nature, for good and…

Brain Static: a self-portrait

By Roger D. Wilson (Cooper) | 00:05:40 | Experimental | 01/01/2009

The human brain is the lifeline to living a happy and healthy life. Any damage to the brain can be a devastating experience for one to live through. Mental illness is overlooked, shunned and hidden in the shadows. Brain Static takes the viewer into the mind of the filmmaker and his fear that one day…

Painting No. 2

By Dan Browne | 00:02:30 | Animation, Experimental | 17/05/2004

An overexposed hi-con roll affords an opportunity for the development of internal vision.

PS Kensington

By Dan Browne | 00:02:35 | Documentary, Experimental | 17/08/2005

One of my first experiments with time-lapse, a roll of Super 8 shot during a Pedestrian Sunday in Kensington Market. I moved into 258 Augusta Ave. in 2002, and the next year my neighbours at La Palette started the PS Kensington initiative, which has continued ever since. My house had a patio door that opened…

Camera Paint

By Roger D. Wilson (Cooper) | 00:04:00 | Animation, Experimental | 01/08/2007

"Camera Paint" takes a look at the process of manipulating unexposed film stock prior to photographing images; the film reveals the process and the results from this experimentation.

Tony

By Andrew Lima | 00:15:55 | Documentary, Experimental | 01/05/2016

Born to Azorean immigrants but raised to adulthood in Canada, Tony Adriano formed his identity in a crucible of exterior conflicts and his own unknowable interior motivations. Combining audio testimony with visual processes of D.I.Y. hybrid analog/digital re-photography onto archival remnants, “Tony” is meditation on identity, creativity, and loss.

Flow

By James Pomeroy | 00:03:31 | Animation, Experimental | 01/01/2015

Flow is a freejazz inspired improvisation of the found visual material and an experimental document of the street that it is based on. Flow was shot frame by frame on super 8 film using a pixilation of surfaces technique. Flow tries to maximize continuity by limiting the disjunctions of the material it is based on.…

Moving Forward

By Roger D. Wilson (Cooper) | 00:05:00 | Experimental | 01/09/2010

As human beings, we are constantly challenged with obstacles that get in our pathway and stop us from reaching our destinations. Aging is inevitable, but it should not slow us down on our road to being happy and reaching our goals. When roads are blocked, we must not stop and be angry with ourselves but…

Poem

By Dan Browne | 00:03:45 | Documentary, Experimental | 01/03/2015

An ode to my daily environment and the presences of two beings – one newly arrived, the other recently departed. It stayed Where I saw it Then it moved a fraction To the left and then twice that Distance again further and further It disappeared Then just faintly A corner of it just a fraction…
