You Cannot Kill David Arquette

Available to rent until October 19
Directed by David Darg & Price James
2020, USA, 91 min

This title is available to rent via Cinematheque at Home. This is not only an opportunity for our patrons to see new cinema, but is an important way that they can continue to support independent film during this pandemic with 50% of all sales supporting our theatre.

Branded as the most hated man in wrestling after winning a highly controversial WCW World Heavyweight Championship in 2000, actor David Arquette (Scream, Bone Tomahawk, Eight Legged Freaks and the ex of Friends’ Courteney Cox)  attempts a rocky return to the sport that stalled his promising Hollywood career. Dangerously determined to redeem his reputation and reclaim his self-respect, Arquette will stop at nothing to earn his place in professional wrestling. Something of a trainwreck he comes from an esteemed family of actors which includes Rosanna (Crash, Desperately Seeking Susan) and Patricia (Boyhood, CSI) but David’s career is going nowhere fast.

Reviews

Arquette is searching for a shred of legitimacy in a world that’s always made him feel like a fraud, and by the end of this lovable, hilarious, and ineffably heartfelt doc it’s almost impossible not to believe in him...so much raw pathos on display in this relentlessly entertaining doc.
