In this workshop, you will learn the building blocks of making a music video. All elements of the music video will be explored, from conceptualization all the way to distribution. Through case studies, instructor Ryan Steel will deconstruction the process of his own music videos as well as share knowledge of the Winnipeg music video world.

About the instructor:
My name is Ryan Steel. I am an inter-disciplinary filmmaker + animator from Winnipeg, Manitoba. My work is informed by my DIY work ethic and obsession with hazy analog images. I have made videos for the music of… Fencing, Andy Shauf, Living Hour, Begonia, and more. I was nominated for music video director of the year at the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards.
