Here For Now: Short Films & Performances by Aaron Zeghers

The Winnipeg Film Group is pleased to announce that Aaron Zeghers is the recipient of the 2019 Manitoba Film Hothouse Award. Aaron Zeghers is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, film festival programmer and expanded cinema artist. Zeghers primarily works as an experimental filmmaker, utilizing analog formats and obsolete technologies, in-camera effects, various types of animation and other experimental techniques to create his films and expanded cinema performances. Zeghers’ films have screened at festivals and venues around the world including International Film Festival Rotterdam, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Festival du nouveau cinéma, DOXA Film Festival, and New York’s Mono No Aware. As a film programmer, Zeghers is the founder of the Winnipeg Underground Film Festival and is the current Festival Director for the Gimli Film Festival, Manitoba’s largest film festival.

This survey of his work features a selection of his short analog films and a live performance.

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.
