Super 8 Film is turning 50 years old and along with the Global Super 8 Day 2015 , The Winnipeg Film Group will be hosting a workshop and a member screening on October 24th, 2015.

WORKSHOP: Super 8quisite Corpse. Participants will team up to create a blind collaborative Super 8 film which will be hand processed and screened on that night.

Each team will receive a theme and each teammate will take turns secretly shooting 20-30 secs of footage at a time.

Teams will be kept small so you will at least have a couple turns to shoot.

You will hand process your film and get it prepared for the screening that night.

Sat. Oct. 24/ 10 AM – 4PM (or till you’re done)

SCREENING: October 24th @ 7PM at the Black Lodge Studio.  This is a BYOF(ilm) event.  So, if you have some old Super 8 footage you would like to screen, please let mark@winnipegfilmgroup know. Priority will be given to a film print as opposed to a digital copy. We will have a sound system to accommodate a soundtrack.

Admission by donation and there will be pizza and beer.

our location

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.

The Winnipeg Film Group is located on Treaty 1 Territory and on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples and in the homeland of the Métis Nation. We offer our respect and gratitude to the traditional caretakers of this land.
