Haunted by a family tragedy, and desperate to get to California for some unknown reason, young Jimmy Woods (Luke Edwards, Newsies) flees with his conniving brother, Corey (Fred Savage, The Wonder Years). Along the way, they encounter Haley (Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley), a street-smart teen on her way to Reno. Together, they make their way to California, pursued by a sinister bounty hunter, as well as the boys’ father (Beau Bridges, The Fabulous Baker Boys) and brother (Christian Slater, Gleaming the Cube). Meanwhile, their ticket to California just might be found in Jimmy’s hidden talent: video games!
Plays with Automoto

2007, 5 mins
A tour de force, stop-motion animation re-imagining of the filmmaking process, Automoto takes place inside the ornately mechanized cinematic workshop of a wooden skeleton. Shot entirely using stop-motion animation, the film follows the movie-making travails of the skeleton.
There will be free stop motion animation workshop offered by Art City in the Artspace lobby from noon-1pm.
Cinematheque acknowledges the continued and generous support of the Assiniboine Credit Union for our Cabin Fever series.
