This 2 day hands on workshop led by filmmaker Josh Marr will train participants to use the Arri SR3, an analog film camera! Shoot with 16mm film, and come and test the new exciting features that have been recently added to the camera!

Instructor Bio: Josh Marr is a multi-faceted filmmaker from Winnipeg working in documentaries, feature films, television and artworks. His work has premiered at IFF Rotterdam, TIFF, Hot Docs, Sydney Underground Film Festival and Moscow International Film Festival. Josh is known for his experimental work as director of photography, using in-camera and analog effects, trick lighting and photography; all prominently featured on Mike Marynuik’s The Goose, Andrew Shapter’s hybrid docudrama Teller and the Truth and Ryan McKenna’s Controversies exhibited at MOMA (New York). He has created advocacy and communications films for not for profits including War Child campaigns and gala fundraisers; and has created video learning platforms that teach environmental awareness curriculums for Wildsight used in schools across British Columbia. Josh is a longstanding member of the Winnipeg Film Group, IATSE union 669, specializing in underwater photography. He is a former board member and instructor at Cineworks, Vancouver and taught analog film techniques at Capilano University for many years. Josh currently resides in Toronto and Vancouver

The Winnipeg Film Group reserves the right to cancel any course where the minimum registration has not been met. Anyone registered for a course that has been cancelled is eligible for a full refund, Cancelled course fees may also be used towards any other Winnipeg Film Group training programs.
