Summer is here and the Teen Basic Filmmaking Camp is the place to be for the young aspiring filmmakers of the future! No experience required! (Only 12 spots for each session available)

A 2-week session is available:

Session 2: Mon Aug 12 to Fri Aug 23 (10 AM to 3 PM)

  • Week #1: Mon Aug 12 to Fri Aug 16 (10 AM to 3 PM)
  • Week#2 Mon Aug 19 to Friday Aug 23 (10 AM to 3 PM)

Summer 2019 Teen Camp

 Week 1 (Work on a collaborative group project)

Monday: Introductions
Writing/Creative Process
Script writing in Celtx
Brainstorm ideas for the group project
Write a script for the group project
Create shot list/storyboard for the group project

Tuesday: Lighting overview
Camera overview
Sound Overview
Go to ArtsJunktion to get props

Wednesday:
Shoot our Collaborative Project

Thursday:
Premiere Pro editing overview
Edit our collaborative project

Friday:
Super 8mm workshop (Shooting, Hand Processing, Projecting)Edit Super 8 films.

Week 2 (Small groups to make independent films)

Monday: Blue Screen overview
Writing/Organizing Independent films

Tuesday:
Shoot your films!

Wednesday:
Shoot your films!

Thursday:
Editing Photoshop/After Effects Overview

Friday:
Editing film/digital

This two-week course will provide teens (ages 13-18) with a hands-on environment covering the various departments involved in a shoot, and will expose them to the basic components of film and video production. The students will make at least 3 short films in the 2 week class.

At the end of the workshop (in September), students will have the opportunity to show off their finished films to family and friends!

-The Winnipeg Film Group reserves the right to cancel any course where the minimum registration has not been met. Anyone registered for a course that has been cancelled is eligible for a full refund, Cancelled course fees may also be used towards any other Winnipeg Film Group training programs.

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.
