Canadian animations in Portugal!

Mar 15, 2019

Our friends at Quickdraw Animation Society/GIRAF Animation Festival have curated a program of short animations that will be presented at MONSTRA Festival in Portugal this month!

Canada is MONSTRA’s guest country for their 2019 festival and GIRAF has put together a program called “Canadian Animation at the Fringes” that includes films from the WFG Distribution collection.

Aristofanis Soulikias’s animated, bilingual documentary, Last Dance on the Main, and Amanda Strong’s collaboration with poet Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, How to Steal a Canoe, are both selected for this program, as well as Leslie Supnet’s Second Sun.

Canadian Animation at the Fringes – Curated by GIRAF will screen on March 25 at Lisbon’s Cinema Ideal.

The full program can be viewed here.

Thanks to GIRAF and MONSTRA and congrats to Aristofanis, Amanda, and Leslie!

To learn more about the films in the WFG collection, please email distribution@winnipegfilmgroup.com or call 204-925-FILM x 103 or 105.
