Breakthroughs Film Festival 2020 Program Announced!

Jun 7, 2020

The 9th Annual Breakthroughs Film Festival has moved online, and the full lineup has been announced! The festival will run from June 25-28, with screenings beginning at 7pm EST. We’re thrilled to share that Chanelle Lajoie’s film, Métis Femme Bodies, has been selected to screen as part of I AM MY HOME. This program takes place on Sunday, June 28 at 7pm EST. There will be a live Q&A with directors to follow.

Director, Chanelle Lajoie, has also been spotlighted on their website! Check out the interview!

At the core, this film is meant to showcase the variances in how Métis Femmes appear, and how, with our vast shapes and shades, we can hold paralleled experiences. I also believe it is important to underscore the realization that much of what we may feel isolates us can be the basis of what brings a community together.
