Winnipeg Film Group Membership

The purchase of a WFG membership is required to access a number of services from our production centre - including access to rent equipment and facilities, the eligibility to apply to certain funding programs and to access our independent production insurance program.

In addition, certain WFG membership categories also are eligible to vote for elected Board Director positions at the annual AGM and to run for these positions. The enables our production centre members with an opportunity to contribute to the governance of the WFG.

Membership is open to the general public.

Please note that Equipment Access and Cinematheque membership categories do not provide the ability to run for elected Board Director positions at the AGM or to vote for these positions.

* From November 1, 2010 to October 31, 2012, a capital surcharge will be applied to all Winnipeg Film Group membership categories, to support facility development and equipment planning within our production centre.

General Membership: $40 (includes $10 capital surcharge)

Basic User Membership: $75 (includes $15 capital surcharge)

Recommended for filmmakers and video artists seeking access to our funding programs and access to rent basic equipment (video and non-synch cameras)

  • Eligibility to apply to our Production Fund, First Film Fund and Marketing Fund programs
  • Access to book our studio, optical printer and steenbecks
  • Access to a LIMITED range of production equipment, including tungsten lights, grip gear and basic cameras, subject to demonstration of user competency

Full User Membership: $110 (includes $20 capital surcharge)

Recommended for filmmakers and video artists seeking full rentals access, access to our member insurance and access to reduced rental rates for our Cinematheque venue

  • Access to our full range of equipment, subject to demonstration of user competency
  • Access to book our Final Cut Pro Suite
  • Access to our independent production insurance plan
  • A 40% discount to rent our Cinematheque venue (some restrictions apply)

Video Pool Joint (Equipment Access) Member: $60 (includes $15 capital surcharge)

Available only to Video Pool USER and PRODUCER members wishing to access our production equipment, facilities and services. This membership category, like our Cinematheque memberships, does not provide the right to vote for elected Board Director positions at the AGM or to run for these positions. (NOTE: this category of membership cannot be purchased online, as proof of user or producer membership at Video Pool must be shown at time of purchase.)

Non-Profit Organization (Equipment Access) Member: $100 (includes $25 capital surcharge)

Available to non-profit organizations wishing to access our production and post production equipment and facilities rentals program at organizational rates. The benefits of this membership are organizational only, and do not extend down to staff, members or students of the organizational member. Note this category of membership does not provide the right to vote at our AGM, nor the right to run for our Board of directors.
