Winnipeg Film Group Membership

All Winnipeg Film Group membership categories receive the Cinematheque program guide mailings.

The three main member categories below (general, basic user and full user) provide the right to vote at the AGM, as well as the right to run for our Board of directors. The equipment access and Cinematheque membership categories do not.

General Membership: $30

Recommended for filmmakers and video artists seeking access to workshops and distribution services
  • All the benefits of Cinematheque membership
  • Winnipeg Film Group mailings
  • Reduced workshop registration fees, at membership rates
  • Access to distribution services
  • Inclusion in our crew and actor listings, if desired
  • Right to vote at our AGM (after 60 days of new membership)
  • Right to run for our Board of Directors

Basic User Membership: $60

Recommended for filmmakers and video artists seeking access to our funding programs and access to rent basic equipment (video and non-synch cameras)
  • All the benefits of General membership (above)
  • Eligibility to apply to our Production Fund, First Film Fund and Marketing Fund programs
  • Access to a LIMITED range of production equipment, including tungsten lights, grip gear and basic cameras, subject to demonstration of user competency

Full User Membership: $90

Recommended for filmmakers and video artists seeking full rentals access, access to our member insurance and access to reduced rental rates for our Cinematheque venue
  • All the benefits of Basic User membership (above)
  • Access to our full range of equipment, subject to demonstration of user competency
  • Access to our independent production insurance plan
  • A 40% discount to rent our Cinematheque venue (some restrictions apply)

Video Pool Joint (Equipment Access) Member: $45

Available only to Video Pool USER and PRODUCER members wishing to access our production equipment, facilities and services. This membership category, like our Cinematheque memberships, does not provide the right to vote at our AGM or to run for our Board of Directors. (NOTE: this category of membership cannot be purchased online, as proof of user or producer membership at Video Pool must be shown at time of purchasing.)

  • Cinematheque bi-monthly program guide mailings and reduced membership ticket prices
  • Winnipeg Film Group Mailings
  • Reduced workshop registration fees, at membership rates
  • Eligibility to apply to our Production Fund, First Film Fund and Marketing Fund programs
  • Access to a LIMITED range of production equipment, including tungsten lights, grip gear and basic cameras (non-synch and digital), subject to demonstration of user competency 

Non-Profit Organization (Equipment Access) Member: $75

Available to non-profit organizations wishing to access our production and post production equipment and facilities rentals program at organizational rates. The benefits of this membership are organizational only, and do not extend down to staff, members or students of the organizational member. Note this category of membership does not provide the right to vote at our AGM, nor the right to run for our Board of directors.

CINEMATHEQUE MEMBERSHIP - for those wishing to have the bi-monthly Cinematheque program guide automatically mailed to their homes and to be eligible for the discounted membership ticket price
