The Marketing Fund was initiated to help film and video artists fund the marketing and distribution of their works by contributing up to $900 towards the cost of promotional materials and other relevant expenses. Items such as preview DVDs, professional screening tapes and prints, postcards, as well as festival entry fees and postage are fundable expenses. This program is open to film and video makers with a variety of different experience levels. Applications for projects can be considered once a project is at least at a rough cut stage but must be completed within 3 months of submission.

Applicants must be residents of Manitoba and members of the Winnipeg Film Group in good standing. Applicants must be the creator/director of the project, and must maintain full artistic and financial control of the project; producers are not eligible to apply.

The Marketing Fund has two rounds yearly – one in spring and one in fall. The maximum request is $900. Applicants can only obtain one Marketing Fund per film or video.

Applicants cannot hold more than one Marketing Fund at any given time; once one award is closed off, an applicant is eligible to apply for another project. Applicants can have concurrent Marketing Fund and Production Fund Awards.
