PROGRAMMING RATIONALE
The Winnipeg Film Group programs the most important Canadian and independent cinema via our Cinematheque – including shorts, documentaries, experimental films and features – to advance the following objectives:

To screen and promote the best of Canadian, independent, and alternative cinema in the cultural context of world cinema

To screen the work of visiting filmmakers and touring film programs from Canada, other countries, and cultural backgrounds

To provide opportunities for co-operative programming with other arts and community organizations

To screen and promote new work from the Winnipeg Film Group and by other Manitoba independent filmmakers and video artists
These objectives are directly related to ensuring that all independent artworks are accessible to the Canadian public.
