Sponsorships and donations make a significant contribution to the Cinematheque's capacity to bring special programs and rare films to the Winnipeg community and to provide a wide range of free admission programming. Sponsorship has benefits!

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

  • EQUIPMENT SPONSOR: $10,000

Cinematheque is currently in need of a digibeta deck to upgrade its presentation capacity. A used deck costs $10,000 to purchase. We can also accept a new or used deck as a gift. This can be a sponsorship or a donation.

  • SCREENING SERIES SPONSOR: $2,500

Recent multi-day screening series include Cabin Fever: Free Films for Kids, Gimme Some Truth: The Winnipeg Documentary Project and Cinema Lounge: Critical Dialogue on Canadian Cinema. Occasionally, exclusive sponsorship opportunities are available for some of our smaller series.

Sponsorship benefits include logo recognition in our printed program guide, website and special promotional materials (posters, handbills, etc.), banner placement in the cinema during the screenings, the opportunity to have a promotional trailer screen before the films and the opportunity to make opening remarks at the screening series.

  • ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT SPONSOR: $3,500 - $1,500 (various levels available)

Every year in spring we hold a high profile fundraising event that honours the career of an exceptional filmmaker. The funds raised through this event contribute significantly to the Cinematheque, to support its ongoing operation. This event includes a special film screening, followed by a VIP reception. Among the past honoured filmmakers include Guy Maddin and Norma Bailey.

In 2009, we are thrilled to be able to honour the exceptional career of Winnipegger Richard Condie, a two-time Oscar® nominated filmmaker and a founder of the Winnipeg Film Group.

Sponsorship benefits vary depending on the level of sponsorship. All sponsors receive a number of complimentary tickets to the event, logo recognition in the bi-monthly Cinematheque program guide and on our website and banner placement at the reception.

The higher sponsorship levels include presenter status recognition, with the opportunity to have a trailer screen before the formal screening program, and the opportunity to make opening remarks. The higher sponsorship levels also include a number of free admission passes to regular Cinematheque screenings, which make a great gift for staff or clients.

  • FILM SCREENING SPONSOR: $1,000

Individual film screening sponsorships are available, including for our very popular Winnipeg Film Group Membership Premieres and special one-night films and shorts programs, including our Best of ImagineNATIVE screening. Exclusive sponsorships are available.

Sponsorship includes complimentary tickets to the screening, logo recognition in our printed program guide and website and banner placement in the cinema during the screening.

  • CINEMATHEQUE BUY-A-SEAT: $250

Some seats are still available for purchase through our Cinematheque Buy-A-Seat program. A plaque with an inscription customized by the sponsor is permanently afixed on a seat arm-rest in the theatre. Availability is limited.
