From time to tIme, the Winnipeg Film Group hosts one-time hands-on workshops and lectures by master-level instructors. The programs provide unique opportunities for learning and development in specialized areas.

Canadian documentary pioneer Peter Wintonick will work with several participants on telling stories through the documentary medium.
Fri Oct 9 to Sun Oct 11, 2009 (35 mm Film Experiment) - JOHN PRICE
Toronto filmmaker and cinematographer John Price will lead a master level 35 mm Film Experiment do-it-yourself film 'alchemical experimentation' workshop. Six filmmakers will work directly with Price to each shoot, process and test screen approximately 2 minutes of 35 mm footage.
Thurs Oct 8, 2009 (One-on-Ones / Master Lecture) - PHILIP HOFFMAN
Acclaimed Canadian experimental filmmaker Philip Hoffman will be available for up to four one-on-one appointments with filmmakers on Thurs Oct 8, and will provide a Master Lecture on Diary Cinema at 5 PM at Cinematheque. This series is presented by WNDX in collaboration with the Winnipeg Film Group.
Sun Mar 15, 2009 (2 PM to 4 PM) - BOB WISEMAN
Acclaimed musician and filmmaker Bob Wiseman will speak about working with Don McKeller, Bruce Macdonald, Bruce McCulloch for Saturday Night Live, Vincenzo Natali of "Cube" and making his own films. He will also talk about the creative and technical processes of scoring films and how to get your work into films.
Fri Mar 6, 2009 (12 Noon to 2 PM) - BRUCE MCDONALD
Respected Canadian director Bruce McDonald has established a career as an independent director of unique projects for both film and television. This is a rare opportunity to hear McDonald speak about his incredible career and talk about the process he undertakes for developing projects.
Sat Dec 6, 2008 (1 PM to 3 PM) - GUYLAINE DIONNE
Quebec filmmaker Guylaine Dionne will provide a screening of her film The Three Madeleine's and then continue with a lecture discussing her career, films and methods as a French female filmmaker working in Canada today.
