35 MM DIY FILM EXPERIMENT

A co-presentation of WNDX and the Winnipeg Film Group

This new master level 35 MM FILM EXPERIMENT workshop is a multi day, do-it-yourself film 'alchemical experimentation' workshop.

Six filmmakers will work directly with Toronto filmmaker and cinematographer John Price to each shoot, process and test screen approximately 2 minutes of 35 mm footage. 

LOGISTICS / SCHEDULE

Participants will meet at the Film Group studio, for the following timeslots

  • FRI OCT 9 (4:30 PM to 6:30 PM): Orientation and Camera Info Session
  • SAT OCT 10 (10 AM to 4 PM): Shoot, Hand Processing
  • SUN OCT 11 (10 AM to 4 PM): Hand Processing, Screening

Participants will be expected to not only work on their own dedicated shoots (where they will shoot approximately 2 minutes of footage), but also assist other participants in both shooting and hand-processing.

REGISTRATION:

* Registration is open to qualified filmmakers who have demonstrated experience in operating basic motion picture cameras and in hand-processing (ideal for alumni of the WFG 16 MM and S8MM Film Experiment series)

* There is a materials fee of $35 for confirmed participants
