About Us

The Winnipeg Film Group was founded in 1974 and is a charitable, artist-run organization dedicated to promoting the art of cinema.

We have served as a resource for Manitoba filmmakers and video artists for 35 years, providing access to affordable training, mentorship, production funding, experimentation opportunities, production and post production equipment and facilities, and local, national and international programming and distribution.

We're located across the street from Old Market Square, on the 3rd floor of the Artspace building (just upstairs from our Cinematheque) at 100 Arthur Street at Bannatyne - one block west of Main. See map...

We acknowledge the generous, ongoing support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Manitoba Arts Council and the City of Winnipeg through the Winnipeg Arts Council. We also acknowledge the vital support of all our other funders, sponsors and donors.
